The roller chain catcher is not just an alternative to the standard catch hook – it fulfills several important functions. Of course, it reliably catches the chain in the event of a chain breakage, but also provides additional stability in the area between the stop claws.
I highly recommend using the roller chain catcher, especially in combination with my chain stop claws. It helps distribute the forces more evenly and minimizes the load on both claws—especially during intensive use.
All of my stop claws are designed so that the roller chain catcher can be easily retrofitted – even on saws that do not have such a catcher from the factory, such as the Stihl MS 261.
